Description
The Caspian Sea Monster is the first true diver's watch from Vostok-Europe and a leap forward in design and technology for Russian and Eastern European timepieces. The signature element is the use of tritium tube technology. The small, gas-filled tubes provide constant illumination for the dial and hands and do not need to be charged in sunlight or with a battery. This radioluminescent material provides unwavering visability of the watch in any lighting conditions and is excellent for diving. Named for the Ekranoplan, or Caspian Sea Monster, the watch is inspired by the unusual "ground effect" vehicle built by Russia that carried enormous weight back and forth accross the Caspian Sea on a cushion of air just 20 feet above the surface. The dial sports an image of the plane and the day-night inidactor and 24-hour GMT readout are tied to the nautical and aviation theme of the watch. This true, numbered limited edition is constructed of all surgical grade stainless steel, is water resistant to 20 atmospheres and is hand assembled in Vilnius, Lihuania. The integrated, silicon strap, screw-in crown and unidirectional bezel are signature features of any quality dive watch.
